Grub Findings - The Shack

Ok, I have to say this first; exploring a new eat during a diet is such a horrible idea because everything on the list sounds so deeeeee'lish, and talk about "OVERBOARD" when it comes time to order. haha Alright it's not that bad but close enough. Today, my good friend Nic took Susi and I to a place call The Shack, in East Sacramento. If you don't drive the speed limit or slower, seriously you'll miss this little hole in the wall on the corner of 52nd and Folsom.

It's a tiny little building hidden behind what I like to call mini palm trees. If you're not careful you could miss the building and the turn all together. Looking at the building from the outside, you can tell this place has history. The wood grain has cracks from years of abuse from our dear mother nature. If the walls can speak, I'm sure it'll share all it's secret with us. The paint and it's color whether new or old fits the mood and tempo of this place. If this was several years ago, I wouldn't have step a foot into this place for fear of cock roach infested kitchen, unclean tables and chairs. But thankfully, I have grown to appreciate and trust hole in the wall type places. As this is where most good eats are discovered.

So what was the order today? We started with beer batter onion ring. YUM! The onion rings were huge and hot off the fryer. It's definitely worth the $$. For the main meal I had the Shack Burger. It's a 1/3 pounder burger cooked to your liking with steak fries. When I saw that it was steak fries. I thought "oh man, hands down, this will be the shit!" Something about steak fries that touches the bottom of my guts. LOL Even the red clown's (McDonald) can't beat that kind of love. ha! The star of the show, "the Shack" was most delicious. I'm not a burger virgin, nor am I a burger guru but I've been down that road o'plenty of times, and this place serves up a nice patty. It's like a cross between the Red Bird and the Squeeze. Thick, juicy, cheesey, and mmm so yummy. It's the perfect ending to a lunch. The only unfortunate part of this new find is, I was in a total rush to eat and leave. LAME! So definitely next time, I'll have to visit when I have more time. Next time I think I'll try the ruben, heard it's pretty good. :)

P.S. on another note... I only ate half my burger and some steak fries and was already full. So proud of myself that I didn't slam down that whole burger. URGH otherwise I would be kicking myself in the butt right now with eater's remorse.

The 5 W's

In grade school I learned to use the 5 W's. I have to admit over the years I have come back to the rule of the 5 W's to help me as a writer errr in this case a blogger type through a writer's block. =) Hmm what about a blogger's block? heh. What is the 5 W's? Well, it's fairly simple. Who What When Where and Why. Simple, right?

I figure for my first blog, I would start with the 5 W's to help encourage myself along and gather ideas to share. As I am an introvert, to strangers or the cyber world. Yes, even if I can hide behind this monitor, there is still a barrier of  brick wall that I like to shield myself behind. No worries, it's a pretty wall so enjoy the scenary. On a serious note, I hope to give this blogging deal a try. In my crazy world, I believe every path is worth a peek, but only some are worth the travel.

Anywho, off my soap box and onto the matter at hand.

Who: So who is this? Well, a little introduction here. I am a simple person of over quarter of a century young. 3 apples tall but not blue.

What: What do I like? What am I doing here on blogger? I like just about anything and everything. And I hate just about anything and everything. I love contradictions. I think it adds to the spices of life. Help keep our minds open to all aspects of life. What am I doing here on blogger? Well, I have contemplate blogging for a long time but just never got around to it. I am so busy with life hectic schedule. But thanks to my friend Suzi, I had to create a blogger account in order to comment on her blog, so I might as well kill two birds with one stone. Now, will I have the time and effort to continue? I don't know. Will this be something I enjoy? I don't know. All these "I don't know". So during my trial period, I'll give it a shot and see what comes of it. :)

When: When what? Hmmmm When did I decide to start this blog? When my friend posted her blog, I felt compelled to respond.

Where: Where I hope to go? I hope that one day I can explor the great rapids of Zambawi. Dive in an underground cave.

Why: Why I started blogging? I have to say ultimately now that I am nearing the end, and before I lose my thoughts on what I want to say to my friend, I started because of my friend. hehe

So there... that's my 5 W's for now. What about yours?
